Samaritan House Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides emergency shelter and transitional housing to people without other options or resources within the Vermont counties of Franklin and Grand Isle.

Located at 24 Kingman Street in the historic downtown St. Albans, Vermont, our shelter began providing services in 1993 with the help of area churches, businesses, schools, community organizations, and other community members that recognized the need for the programs we offer.

Since that time, the shelter has seen tremendous growth, which is to say, a "mixed blessing".  From our humble beginnings of offering overnight shelter and ministry to those in need, we have expanded our services over the years to include nearly round the clock shelter for those in need. Transitional housing has also been added for families and others unable to secure housing on their own.  While we are happy to have expanded our services and provided for those who need our assistance, it saddens us that there is such a  need, and that the need continues to grow.

Please explore our site, and if your are able, please consider helping us so that we may continue to serve those who need our help.
